eBook Media

Affordability counts especially for college students. The Textbook Affordability Project (TAP) actively take steps to lower student cost of course materials. USF was one of the first schools to join this initiative and my team created and developed the first textbook to execute this mission. Once the first few chapters were created, a style guide was established for the all team members to carry on the identity in different mediums. Each content was professionally reviewed for accessibility compliance.

The first TAP ebook was entirely accessible and included custom video, animations, illustrations, editorial design and unique brand to suit the faculty's ideal vision. This innovative project has won several awards and has been downloaded from the iTunes Store globally. Every illustration including avatars and infographics were custom made for this project. The Inside, Outside, and Upside Downs of Children's Literature: From Poets and Pop-ups to Princesses and Porridge is available at https://scholarcommons.usf.edu/childrens_lit_textbook/

After the first interactive ebook launch, process was improved with more knowledge in accessibility, video production and editorial development. A proof of concept for the second TAP book initiated compliance assurance with the accessibility department, and development training with set goals and iBook technicality.

Each chapter includes media developed in-house. Continuing the futuristic UI theme established, the green screen videos featured the instructor and guest speakers in virtual spaces.
